Ioan Tudur Jones, was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas' Hospitals, London in 2008. After becoming a Fellow of the Royal college of Surgeons, Mr Jones spent another six years training in Orthopaedic surgery. During this period he was awarded a fellowship (Laming Evans) by the Royal College to further pursue his research interests. He has published and presented his work internationally. In 2006 he successfully passed his final specialist Trauma and Orthopaedic examinations thus gaining the FRCS (Ortho). He completed his training with an 18-month fellowship in Foot and Ankle surgery, at The Nuffield in Oxford and The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London.
His current practice is exclusively dedicated to the management of foot and ankle related problems as well as general Orthopaedic trauma. Working at Guys and St Thomas' teaching hospitals has allowed him to pursue his main interests of correcting major deformity particularly amongst patients suffering from neurological, and Rheumatological conditions.
As a keen sportsman Mr Jones is well aware of the limitations injury brings. His sports practice is therefore aimed at realistic and rapid return to form. Whenever possible he uses the latest Arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques.
Mr Jones works closely with Physiotherapists and Podiatrists to provide a holistic approach to recovery. By doing this we can often provide non surgical solution to many common problems as well as minimizing the time spent out of work or away from the training field.
Mr Jones is married to Anita, also a doctor, and has 2 small daughters and a son.
He lives in West London, and is a fluent Welsh speaker. He keeps fit by commuting across London by bicycle, and competing in endurance events.
