Ray McIntosh
Senior Orthotist
Ray McIntosh is a Senior Orthotist with over 40 years experience in all aspects of orthotics.
In addition to being a member of the Clinic for Foot and Ankle Surgery team, working at the Lister Hospital, Ray also provides services to St Mary’s Hospital in London and Milton Keynes General Hospital.
Ray trained at the Bridge of Earn Orthopaedic Hospital in Scotland where he developed skills in the manufacture of orthotics as well as clinical diagnostic skills.
His interest in research and development on spinal injury and the treatment of paraplegias has been furthered with trips to the USA, and subsequently contributing to the development of the reciprocating gait orthosis.
His specialist interest is in clinical gait analysis. He has lectured at Strathclyde and Salford Universities on the reciprocating gait orthosis and its function. He has also had papers accepted by the British and European Journal of orthotics and Prosthetics.
Ray is a member of the British Association of Prosthetics and Orthotics, and an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team at the Clinic for Foot and Ankle surgery. |
